What is recorded here

Graveslab in Baile Chláir lies broken on the nave floor, still carrying the shape of a prayer for William Sidy, Onora Fahe and their descendants from 1688. The letters have vanished, but the slab remains large enough to mark a life and thin enough to disappear underfoot. It is the kind of loss that does not announce itself; it waits for someone to look down and remember that prayer once had a name.

Located on the floor of the nave of the friary (GA070-035001-). Described by Bradley and Dunne (1992, 60) as a broken slab (L 1.05m; Wth 0.94m; T 0.1m) bearing the following inscription: PRAY FOR THE SOVLES OF/ WILLIAM [SIDY AND] HIS WIFE/ ONORA FAHE AND THEIR/ POSTER[ITIE 1688] On inspection in June 2018 a broken slab matching the dimensions was found but no trace of an inscription was evident on it.
