Graveslab in Ardfert is an uninscribed tapering limestone slab from the 13th or 14th century, still lying in the chancel. Its moulded edges and measured dimensions suggest careful making for a specific dead person, yet no name remains to identify them. The slab preserves a forgotten life beneath Ardfert’s stones, waiting for imagination to complete what record has lost.
