Gravel Pit marks a Post Medieval extraction scar inside Powis Castle Park, where heavy wheels and hungry shovels took stone from the living earth. The castle likely consumed that gravel for roads, boundaries or kitchen floors, turning raw ground into useful shape. Men may have worked the pit in silence, measuring depth and weight while the grand house stood untouched above them.
