What is recorded here

Grave Yd is a living stone boundary on a sunny slope above the Ballydonegan river, holding the ruined heart of Kilnamanagh church and rows of unnamed dead. People still carry new grief into that old yard, joining centuries of burial beneath an open sky. The roofless church beside it watches without walls, forcing every visitor to meet the landscape and the dead without human decoration.

On SE-facing slope, overlooking valley of Ballydonegan river, just S of Allihies. Rectangular area enclosed by stone wall; ruins of Kilnamanagh church (CO114-026002-) in centre. Lines of low uninscribed stones; earliest noted headstones date to late 19th century. Still in occasional use. New church built immediately to NW of yard in 1842; now roofless.
