Grave Yd. is a rectangular graveyard in County Laois, Ireland, enclosing a Church of Ireland building and marked by a remarkable mound near the church. It stands on a site where older burial and domestic structures once existed, linking the present church to a deeper layer of local memory. Bones found in the field south of the church suggest that death and reuse shaped this place long before the current wall and building gave it its clear form.

According to the History of the Queens County 'Castletown Protestant church is on the site of a more ancient one, and a grave-yard, as also Castletown House and Maidenhead House. A remarkable mound is at a few paces distance from the church. Newcastle, in ruins, and Towerlton House are also here' (O'Hanlon and O'Leary 1907, vol. 1, 251). Mr. Kent of Castletown House, informed us of a tradition that there was a burial ground in the field south of the church and that bones had been found there (Urban Survey 1986 , p. 20).
