What is recorded here
Situated on a level area on a very gentle SW-facing slope overlooking the Avoca River. No trace of the church remains described in the OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1928, 133) nor of any other early features other than some eighteenth-century headstones in the heavily overgrown graveyard. The mausoleum named on the map is dedicated to Frances Parnell.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
