Graveyard

Why this matters

A local ancient tomb; wider significance not recorded.

What is recorded here

On a natural rise in undulating terrain, surround fields under pasture. Ringfort (TS082-013----) is located c. 100m to N. The graveyard is adjacent to the road in the SW, the entrance is through an iron gate or stile. The church (TS082-014----) is located towards the W end of this roughly rectangular graveyard (dims. 37m N-S; 77m E-W). In the graveyard there are 18th, 19th and 20th-century headstones. The earliest visible headstone dating to 1755 was in the nave. An earth and stone bank, surmounted by hedgerow, encloses the graveyard. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 21 January 2014
