Why this matters
Godrevy Point is a headland in Cornwall composed mainly of Cornish granite, formed during the late Carboniferous to early Permian periods, around 290–310 million years ago. The granite intruded into older sedimentary rocks and is notable for its dramatic coastal scenery and as a prominent landmark near the Godrevy Lighthouse.
