Headland

What is recorded here

Gob Gearraidh Scoir Bheag is shown as a headland on the public map of Na h-Eileanan Siar. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
Gob Gearraidh Scoir Bheag is a basaltic sea cliff formed during the Tertiary period, approximately 60 to 55 million years ago, as a result of volcanic activity associated with the North Atlantic Igneous Province. It is notable for its resistant basalt rock formations, which have withstood coastal erosion, and may represent part of a larger ancient lava flow system in the Western Isles.
