Glorat House stands in Milton of Campsie as a layered survivor, carrying a 1510 tower house, a 1625 Stirling lintel, and an 1869 Scots Baronial rebuild beneath its present roof. The Stirling family lived there after becoming baronets in 1680, and the wide gardens gave that houseroom to breathe after centuries of guarded stone. Even when fashion changed the building, the older masonry stayed inside it, making Glorat less like a new mansion and more like a memory that kept being remembred.
