What is recorded here

Glenrath Hope may have stood as a medieval tower house in the Scottish Borders, though no certain fact confirms that claim. The name itself suggests a narrow valley where water moved quickly and people watched the land for danger or passage. If a tower existed there, it would have been small, exposed and practical, built to survive rather than impress.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Glenrath Hope as Tower House (medieval)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
