Glenomra Castle (Site of) — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

Glenomra Castle stood in Cloongaheen East, County Clare, but no longer stands. Its absence is the clearest fact. Whatever rooms, fires and arguments filled it have vanished, leaving only the name and a hollow place in the landscape.

Glenomra Castle was built in the late 16th or early 17th century by the O'Donnell family, a prominent Gaelic Irish clan. It is remembered as an example of a defensive tower house constructed during a period of political instability in western Ireland.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
