Glengarnock Castle is a ruined medieval tower on a rocky promontory above the River Garnock, held by the Cunninghames until the early 1700s. Mary, Queen of Scots visited in 1563, and a storm in 1839 nearly finished what abandonment had begun. William Cochran Patrick stabilized the wreckage in 1841, clearing a century of soil and exposing the bare stone that still leans against the sky.

The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Built by the Maxwell family in the 14th century, Glengarnock Castle is remembered as a strategic stronghold in the Galloway region of Scotland, reflecting the area's turbulent medieval history and the power struggles between Scottish and English forces.
