Glendivan

Tower House (medieval)

What is recorded here

Glendivan is a medieval tower house in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, recorded in the national historic environment register. Its exact position remains uncertain within a hundred metres, hiding the building beside ordinary land rather than marking it for display. The uncertainty does not weaken the place; it refuses the usual certainty of modern maps. A tower built for defense and memory may still be waiting for someone patient enough to find it without being told where it is.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Glendivan as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
