Glenapp Castle, Smyrton, Smyrton Hill, Hall stands on Smyrton Hill in South Ayrshire, Scotland, where a hall gave way to a laundry working through the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Water that once refreshed guests or filled halls may have churned clothes clean for neighbouring lives. The building still belongs to people, not ideas, and its rooms likely echoed with both pride and ordinary labour.
