Glen Trool

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Glen Trool as Battle Site (14th Century), Commemorative Monument (20th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The Battle of Glen Trool took place in 1307 during the Scottish Wars of Independence, where Robert the Bruce's forces defeated a detachment of English troops. The victory was significant as it boosted Bruce's morale and influence following his coronation as King of Scots.
