What is recorded here
Glasgow, 137 Old Castle Road, Cathcart Smithy is a restaurant and smithy in Scotland. The distinction between eating and making tools may have blurred inside one building, where heat served both purposes. A knife needed sharpening before a meal, or a meal sustained the man who sharpened knives. The road carries cars past the site now, but the smelly, noisy dual use remains plausible in the name.
