Cathcart Castle stands on Old Castle Road as a possible ringwork and medieval tower house, its exact age still unknown. The stones may have watched Glasgow grow from a small settlement into a busy city, while people climbed their stairs or looked out over land now buried under roads and houses. Whether the site was a defensive stronghold or a noble residence, it shaped the area before modern buildings covered most of its evidence.
