Govanhill Picture Palace occupied 45, 47 and 49 Bankhall Street as a cinema, bingo hall and warehouse through the twentieth century. Its large picture house may have shown local lives on silver screens before smaller games and stored goods filled the same space. The building changed its purpose several times while remaining anchored in one Glasgow address.
