Meadowside Shipbuilding Yard stood at 85 Castlebank Street during the nineteenth century, shaping vessels for Glasgow’s busy waters. The exact spot remains marked, though the yard itself has faded from common memory. Whatever steel or timber left that bank, it carried Glasgow’s ambition into distant seas.
