Glasgow, Croftfoot Road, Castlemilk House, Gate Piers stand as unassigned gate piers in Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment. They mark the edge of a lost household, perhaps still holding the shape of a cart wheel or the shadow of a departing servant. The stones do not explain themselves, but they refuse to disappear.
