What is recorded here

Dougrie Terrace stands in Castlemilk as a row of twentieth-century flats, its red sandstone and repeated windows marking the postwar push to house Glasgow beyond the old town. The address still belongs to the city, but the rooms may hold kitchens, nurseries or empty chairs rather than the lives recorded elsewhere. To wonder what those rooms contained is not the same as pretending to know every resident who passed through them.
