Castlemilk is a modern housing estate in Glasgow, built on land where river water once struck castle walls. The name preserves that collision of milk-white tide and stone defense, even though the castle itself has vanished into memory. Rooms still stand where the river disappeared, forcing people to inhabit the shape of what the water left behind.
