Castle Street Bridge spans the canal in Glasgow City, forcing traffic beneath instead of around. The underpass chokes the view, denies the sky, and makes the city feel stacked rather than flat. People walked the tow path above while carts and feet crowded the dark tunnel below. That is still the shape of the place: a bridge that refuses to let either world see the other.
