This black commemorative plaque records: Gladstone Adams 1880-1966. Inventor and Photographer. Invented the car windscreen wiper in 1911. He was born 16 May 1880 at 4 St Anne's Row, close to the Ouseburn Mission which occupied this building from 1869. Recorded plaque organisation: City of Newcastle upon Tyne, Ouseburn Mission.
