Half a mile from the coast road, a shallow wedge of grey stone still marks the grave of giants in County Clare. The chamber has collapsed, yet the ridge remains sharp enough to trace against the sky. People may have laid their dead beneath that wedge before written memory began, trusting the stone to hold what flesh loses.
