What is recorded here

Giant's Castle is an Iron Age promontory fort on St Mary's, where sea cliffs and three northern banks guarded a small rocky plateau. During the Second World War, the army cut practice firing targets into the outer rampart, exposing early Iron Age pottery hidden beneath centuries of grass and patience. The castle still stands at the edge of Salakee Down, half forgotten and half exposed, as if the giant had merely stepped out to watch the machines fly.
Giant's Castle is shown as a archaeological place on the public map of Isles of Scilly. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
