This blue commemorative plaque records: Commander George Eyre-Powell R.N. 1790-1855 lived here. He worshipped at the former Unitarian Chapel, Church Street. The family were benefactors to Colyton. Recorded plaque organisation: Colyton Parish History Society.
George Eyre-Powell was a Royal Navy commander who served during the early 19th century; he is remembered for his service and his family's contributions as benefactors to the town of Colyton.
