Garth Castle is a 14th-century tower house in Glen Lyon where Alexander Stewart, the Wolf of Badenoch, died in 1396. Cromwell’s cannons burned its roof and destroyed its drawbridge in 1654, leaving the massive stones exposed to rain and time. The difficult access and heavy masonry preserved the structure while nearby dwellings vanished, creating a stark ruin that still dominates the valley.
