The *Garnet* was a 19th-century steamship, built in 1890, and wrecked near Port Kemin, Rhinns of Galloway, in the North Channel. It was lost in 1893 when it struck rocks during a storm, resulting in the loss of all 12 crew members and a cargo of coal; the wreck remains an important local maritime heritage site.
