What is recorded here

Gallán is a rectangular standing stone lying recumbent on a south-facing pasture slope in County Cork, measuring 0.96 metres high and aligned northwest to southeast. It resisted capture on both the 1842 and 1903 Ordnance Survey maps, suggesting human hands or deliberate forgetfulness kept it outside official record. The stone may have marked a boundary, a burial, or a promise between neighbours, yet it remains visible only to those walking the land rather than reading it.
