Likely dating to the Late Neolithic or Bronze Age, this standing stone may have had ritual or territorial significance. Local folklore suggests it may have once been marked, though the nature of these marks is not recorded.

What is recorded here

In pasture on N-facing slope. Rectangular stone aligned N-S (H 4.4m; 1.4m x 0.7m). Myler (1998, 106) notes that this is the largest standing stone in the Mealagh Valley and that 'this stone was rumoured to have had markings on it and it is said that a piece of the gallaun was knocked off when it was hit by a bolt of lightning'.
