What is recorded here

Gallan stood in open Cork pasture until removal around 1965, a bare stone facing every direction at once. It may have marked a boundary, a meeting place or a memory no longer spoken aloud. Men and women probably passed it without thinking, then stopped one day and found only grass where its shadow had fallen.
