Gallán was a four-foot-six-inch standing stone in a Cork pasture, erected by a landowner's father as a cattle stone before removal. It resists memory because resistance is the point: visible enough to mark a boundary, ordinary enough to disappear when the herd moved. The absence is not a gap but a shape, a hole in the field where human attention once stood upright.

Not shown on 1842 and 1903 OS 6-inch maps. In pasture. Hartnett (PJH) recorded stone (H 4ft 6ins) here which was erected by landowner's father as 'cattle stone'. Removed.
