What is recorded here
In deciduous woodland, situated at the E edge of the wood, at the base of a NE-facing slope bordering a lowlying basin of marshy ground, which is fed by a number of springs and streams. Roughly circular or kidney-shaped mound (diam. c. 15m; max. H 1.4m at NW) composed of a dense concentration of heat-shattered stones in a charcoal-rich matrix. A depression (Wth c. 2.7m) opening to E appears to indicate the location of the trough. The mound is largely tree covered and the N and SE sides are overlain by field walls.
