Fulacht fia in Faherlaghroe is a small subcircular stone and earth mound on a west-facing slope in County Clare, Ireland. People may have gathered there to heat water, cook food or cleanse the body beside the damp ground. Tom Coffey first noticed the mound in 1994, and later inspection in 1998 revealed its modest size. It is not a grand chamber, but a kitchen of the earth where heat, water and patience did the work.

In improved pasture on a W-facing slope with damp ground to the W. Noted by Tom Coffey (1994) as a 'mound of a destroyed wedge or other megalithic structure' (SMR file) and listed as ‘Megalithic Structure’ in the RMP (1996). On inspection in 1998 this was found to be a small subcircular stone and earth mound (3.8m N-S; 5m E-W; H 0.4-0.6m), possibly a fulacht fia. Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Eve Campbell Date of upload:
