In pasture, to E of well. Low roughly circular mound of burnt material (12m N-S; 12m E-W; H 1m). Subsequent to visit, mound levelled in 1995. According to local information, four timber planks (max. L 2.45m) arranged in a rectangle or square, likely to be the remains of the trough, were found and removed. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
