Fulacht fia in Ballyganner South

At the base of a steep N-facing slope in a NE-SW ravine, on limestone pavement covered in trees and grass. Within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-). This fulacht fia comprises a low kidney-shaped mound (11.5m E-W; c. 5m N-S; int. H 0.4-0.7m; ext. H 0.1-0.9m) of small burnt stones and larger unburnt stones (diam. c. 0.23m). The mound is open to the N, and partly encloses a very distinct trough (2.3m E-W; 1.4m N-S) which is lined by upright stones on its S edge. The mound extends on either side of the trough, to the W (Wth c. 4m; H over trough 0.4m; ext. H 0.9m) and to the E (Wth c. 3.5m; H over trough 0.4m; ext. H 0.1m).
