What is recorded here

Freneystown Castle stands in County Kilkenny as a ruined tower house, its stones stripped of roof and purpose but still vertical against the sky. It may have guarded a local road or hidden a family from raiders, yet no name survives to claim that burden. The absence is not emptiness; it is a invitation to imagine the hands that built it and the fear that shaped its walls.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
