This bronze commemorative plaque records: In tribute to all Czechoslovak soldiers who fell in World War II. From Royal Leamington Spa, in 1941, volunteers from free Czechoslovak forces stationed in the town were parachuted into their homeland to rid if of the tyrant "Protector", S.S. General Heydrich. Two of them - Jan Kubis and Josef Gabcik - accomplished their mission in May 1942. They and their companions laid down their lives for freedom.
The Free Czechoslovak forces were exiled soldiers who fought against Nazi occupation during World War II; Jan Kubis and Josef Gabcik, among them, successfully assassinated SS General Heydrich in 1942, symbolizing resistance against the Nazis.
A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
