Dr Frederick Crace Calvert PhD FRS was a British chemist who significantly contributed to the commercial production of phenol, also known as carbolic acid, which became widely used as a disinfectant and in dye manufacturing. His work at F C Calvert and Co marked important advancements in chemical industry applications during the 19th century.
