Foulis Castle still keeps two gate piers standing in the Highland landscape, though no date or builder is recorded for them. They mark the entrance to a castle that has lost most of its shape, leaving only the threshold where people once passed through. The gap between the piers is wider than any door, yet it still points toward the room, courtyard or road that disappeared.
