What is recorded here
Fortified House, Cynwyl Elfed stands in Carmarthenshire as a Post Medieval structure, its walls built to keep out more than rain. The exact room layout and daily rituals have faded, but the chance of a lantern swinging in a narrow stair or a door locking against a sudden storm still fits the shape of the building. Strength and privacy, not display, seem to have driven its making.
The National Monuments Record of Wales records Fortified House, Cynwyl Elfed as Fortified House from the Post Medieval period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
