Maccourtney's Castle in Ballykinler Upper remains an uncertain fortification, stripped of dates but preserved in name. The castle may have watched fields, resisted invasion or simply marked a boundary nobody wrote down. Its absence from clear history does not diminish it; it refuses to be reduced.
