St Maelrubha, also known as Maolrubha, is an early Irish saint traditionally associated with the founding of a monastery at Emain Mor, near Forres in the 7th century. The saint is linked to the spread of Christianity in the Moray region of Scotland, and local traditions suggest that holy wells and sites near his monastery were used for pilgrimage and healing rituals.
