Castle Street in Forfar held at least three hotel addresses, a cluster where travellers drank, argued and forgot their names. Rooms may have smelled of wet wool and tobacco while carts rattled past at dawn. The buildings still stand as a row of numbered doors, waiting for someone to remember what they hosted.
