What is recorded here
Melt water and battle water mix in one narrow channel. Any creature drinking there takes board room into its own body. The ford does not ask permission because it is the oldest chamber in the world.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as FORD & SITE OF BATTLE; 1689 (c.f. Ldy 033:033). Recorded period: POST-MED; UNCERTAIN; C17TH. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
