This blue commemorative plaque records: Florence Nightingale 1820-1910 Pioneering social reformer, author, administrator, statistician and champion of nursing. The Nightingales lived here at Embley Park, 1825-1874 Recorded plaque organisation: Romsey and District Society.
Dame Florence Nightingale was a pioneering nurse and social reformer who significantly improved medical practices and sanitation in military field hospitals during the Crimean War; her family, including William and Frances Nightingale, resided at Embley Park from 1825 to 1874.
