Fiona O'Shaughnessy

Fiona O'Shaughnessy was born in Galway in 1974, the daughter of an IT consultant and a seamstress, before her family crossed the water to Reading when she was nine. She returned a decade later to chase theatre, carrying that transatlantic displacement into every role until she played Salome at the Gate Theatre and climbed onto international screens. Galway gave her life; departure gave her edge.
