Melt water and coal smoke still belong to Kinramer South, though the copper coins appeared in open soil rather than a collapsed floor. The fifteenth-century date arrives through the coins themselves, not a carved stone or written journal. A person dropped or buried a small amount of wealth beside a busy road, then left the place behind. The road changed, the owner vanished, and the coins waited for boots to scrape them into daylight.
